Game 1 of Finals
4 Teams make it into the finals, XM1, XM2, LGD and our HOT team of MANDY, NATALIE and CHRISTINA, [Depressingly, the most often commented aspect of our clan name was not that Mandy was a slut but that there wasnt a Britney]
This is also a round robin event, with all 4 teams playing against each other. The points total are reset, so despite LGD losing to XM2 [kekeke] scoring begins anew.
We are playing XM1 again, who we had just beaten on acropolis. This time around is the Allied Fortress Map, which is another UMS map, with each team having one coastline, South East and North West. Discussing strategy, we decided on twin zerg and single toss. Since Cow can only use zerg for islands and Pony also preferred zerg, i was stuck with toss, which was fine, since i have copied all my toss builds from X'ds Grrr and my friend The~Lazy~Frog.
ss Since it is an 8 player map, one main remains unclaimed, and each time, that expansion whore Cow took it. I remained focused on the gosu 'Quebec Corsair rush';
Hotkeying my first 4 sairs, i went out to find our TOSS/ZERG/ZERG opponents. Despairingly, i only found about 3 unescorted lords to kill, as they were going mass drops with hydra and goon escorts [how they were going to get over amongst our 3 air builds, i dont know].
Yes, we all went mass air, going muta and sairs, with my sairs patrolling every single part of the middle territory. With about 8 sairs patrolling all hotkeyed in pairs, nothing ever got through without quick retribution from Pony or Cow s mass mutes. In the meantime, we harrassed their exps with super mutes while we took every single exp on our coastline.
Both sides took the time to build up, me scout/sair/mass lots, Cow mass lings/mutas and Pony all the air tech, it became obvious that they [the baddies] needed somehow to our coast. Their plan unfolded during a mass muta attack on the enemy, a mass swarm of hydras started ripping up Cow s most eastern expansion. They had made a hatchery on our land and nydused their way in!! Such a gosu tactic had to be rewarded however, and we patiently waited for dts, lings and templars to gather, and we stormed/dt'd/linged and muta'd the crap out of the mass hydras all bunched together. Sadly, during the conflict, Cow 's overmind left those mutas that were bombarding the enemy coast, and all were lost to a few storms.
However, soon after we took the DMZ's expansions, and our resources ramped up, we begin mass dropping with guardian/dweb support from the air. Cracklings, dts and speedy lots tore up all their bases. A long game, but a GG. Top scorer was Cow 's cracklings.
LGD had exacted revenge on XM2 in their allied fortress encounter, and as we swapped teams, with us landing XM2 on Crystal Castles, a mega-walled in 8 player affair, with only 2 bridges to access the opponents mains separated by a large 'wall of china' running from bottom left to upper right.
All 4 mains are within the castles while a field to the side of the castle contains 4 exps and numerous exps dot the area behind the castles. Opponents were zerg/toss/terran based in the north, while we were in based in the south.
During the usual pre-game chat of 'KAKAKA' 'IM HOT HOT HOT' 'MANNER GAME NO DIS -_-;;' Disaster struck as Cow started before either Pony or I had chosen our races!! I landed zerg but Pony to his dismay got terran. Being basically an air map, i deigned to swap seats for this game, and as Pony agreed, i became Natalie's Terran for this game, while he became the Sexy Christina's Zerg.
Our plan was to guide the bridges with token forces while we massed air, but XM2 decided to mass quick rush, pushing past our puny bridge defenders with mass lings, marines and zealot/goons. Cow had nothing at all as the expansion whore was planning on mass mutes, he lost his Main, his 2nd main, his 1st natural [yes the bitch had 4 bases already], while Pony and I lost one natural as well as my main.
Pony 's mutas finally cleared up the mess the enemy had made and Cow began mass whoring once more as Pony toured the enemy bases. We were quite scared at this point, because we had not attacked them but they had killed off 3 mains and 3 naturals.
Strangely, we detected very very few exps anyway, as they seemed to prefer to mass units and tech. As my main was rocked again by dts and marines, i expanded twice more to the right, while Cow did the same, as Pony seemed content with 2 exps. Deciding on mass wraiths, i pumped from 6 starports and 4 raxes and fax, while upgrading from 4 armouries and 2 ebays. Meanwhile, my 6 hotkeyed comsats were truly awesome, always finding new expansions for Cow and Pony 's mass muta and hydra drops to rape and rape and RAPE. GOSU MUTA KAKAKA. We kept up our expansion whoring, with Pony acquring 2 more exps and Cow and i one each, so that we had our complete half taken.
However, they were fighting gamely with white terran producing hordes of golis, marines and red making mass hydra and scourges. Which was when we exacted our masterplan, with Pony cutting deep into the new exps and bridges with lurks and hydras and Cow harrassing the mains with mutas,comsats were used to find the horde of red overlords and 1 squad of wraiths chewed them up, helped kill one exp and then went into one of the 2 white mains to help Cow . The mass goons, temps and golis were too much so we retreated a bit to mass again.
Red was pretty much out of the game, so it was left to white again, who dropped 4 loads of marines and tanks amongst the uppermost of my terran expansions. Cow and Pony took this time to wipe out the last of the toss expansions, leaving me to deal with the rines and tanks. Mano O Mano, Terr to Terr. Facing his massed marines, some Medics and 2 tanks, were... 40 3:3 wraiths. Mopping up, I found that Cow had cut straight through the Toss base into one of the white mains, where his mutas were caught in a vicious fight between golis/goons and rines. BRING THE PAIN! 3:3 wraiths tearing up goliaths, mass hydra and mutas killing goons and the war was over! A close game at the start turned into a comedy at the end. GG High scorer was the White Terran from the other team.
The final game of the series, with LGD and HOT on equal standings, this game would decide first place. Double Diamond was the map, an allied team map with two factions seperated by a thin strip of water in the middle. Each half had 4 mains and 4 naturals, with no other sources of expansions. It would be a tight game if it went over half and hour. We had already decided on our races, the same toss/zerg/zerg we had on Allied Fortress where we had absolutely owned XM1 with our mass air. Mutas are absolutely the most efficient units, fast, durable, hard to target singularly with amazing damage value [9+3+1].
Again we begin with the usual pregame chatter, and the LGD choosing the quaint and cute names, BestTerranEver, BestProtossEver, and BestZergEver [even though they chose triple zerg, go figure]. IM HOT HOT HOT and we start the game. Triple zerg was just perfect for me, as i begin the same quebec queer corsair rush, while Pony does the same muta tech build and Cow goes the same expansion whore technique.
And once again, but more luckily, i find lots and lots of naked lords patrolling their outeredges, killing 5 before spores and hydras are thrown up. As I play chicken with the enemy mutas [one has gone muta and 2 have gone hydras] Cow announces he is ready to go, and Pony joins him, as about 24 mutas are unleashed on exp to exp. As the hydras fight back, we settle into our roles, Pony harrasses expansions with guardians/dev/muta which also screen enemy spores from my sairs, which use his cover to take out all the enemy lords. Meanwhile Cow powers from 4 bases and gathers a entire wing of mutas. Basically the game ends with Cow massacring hydras while Pony and I are just spectators with niche jobs of expansion and lord takedown.
I only killed 41 units, but most of them were lords kekeke.
Cow killed 150+ units but lost only 19. They never got one unit, not even a lord, over our side of the river. The deciding factor was the fact they had chosen to go 2 drops and 1
air, while we were committed to triple air, thus allowing ourselves to work as a team much faster than they could using our enhanced mobility. I only had 1 exp and 2 stargates,while
Pony only had 3 hatches.
Cow
ran the show with his 4 gas sources =]. A very brief game compared to the previous 2 allied games. GG Naturally

Good games were exchanged and post-tourney games took place, as HOT beat out XM2 again, this time on hunters, while the top team from Colliseum.com, another cybercafe challenged the winners of the tourney [us!! yay] to a best of 3 series, which we won 2-0 on hunters.
After an exhausting 5+ hours, we had compiled a nice record of 10-0 against some challenging teams. Props go out to
XM2 for
providing us our toughest game. Thanks to Cybermania for running a fine and uninterrupted tourney. Shout-outs to Colliseum for taking the walk over to play at Cybermania, and thanks to Organs, Tom and Travis for supporting us for the entire tourney.
